Data items
Introduction
Data items in Sutro represent individual records within a collection. These items are displayed as rows within the data table view of each collection. Managing data items efficiently ensures that your software maintains accurate and organized information. In this guide, we’ll cover how to create, edit, duplicate, and delete data items.
Creating a new data item
Navigate to the Data section.
Navigate to the desired collection where you want to add a new item.
Click the + symbol on the right hand side of the Data section.
A sidebar will open, allowing you to enter information for each property associated with the collection.
Once you have entered the necessary information, click Save to add the new item to the table.
Editing an existing data item
Locate the item you want to edit directly within the data table.
Click on the item to open a sidebar with the item’s associated information.
Make your changes to the item’s information for each property.
Click Save to update the item.
Duplicating a data item
Locate the item you want to duplicate directly within the data table.
Click on the item to open a sidebar with the item’s associated information.
Click the Options menu (three dots) in the top right of the sidebar.
Select Duplicate item from the dropdown menu.
Enter a new name for the duplicated item or accept the default name created.
Deleting a data item
Locate the item you want to duplicate directly within the data table.
Click on the item to open a sidebar with the item’s associated information.
Click the Options menu (three dots) in the top right of the sidebar.
Select Delete item from the dropdown menu.
A confirmation window will open, asking you to confirm the deletion.
Click Delete to permanently remove the item.
Best Practices
Keep information up to date: Regularly update your data items to reflect the most accurate information.
Use descriptive names: Clearly identify each item to make it easy to find and manage.
Duplicate for similar entries: Use the duplication feature to quickly create similar items without starting from scratch.
